who gave him the best education and apprenticed him to a
surgeon
.
After completing his educational course and performing his hospital work successfully, he spent some time in
Liverpool
, and subsequently at
Wrexham
and
Corwen
. When he was 32 years old he moved to
Penstryt
,
Llandegla
, and d. there in
1854
. He left a manuscript volume of music containing tunes and the cantata
Gweddi Habacuc
which he had submitted to the
Porthmadog
eisteddfod
in
1851
. His letters which appeared in
Yr Amserau
,
1851
, criticising the adjudication made by ‘
Tanymarian
’ (
DWB
, 923)
at
Bethesda
eisteddfod
, led to much agitation in musical circles.
