MORGAN , JOHN LLOYD ( 1861 - 1944 ), county court judge ;

b. 13 Feb. 1861 at Carmarthen , s. of William Morgan , minister (Congl.) and Professor at the Presbyterian College , Carmarthen , and his wife Margaret , dau. of Thomas Rees , Capel Tyddist , Llandeilo . He was educated at Tattenhall (Staffordshire) and Trinity College , Cambridge . He was a J.P. for Carmarthenshire , Pembrokeshire and Glamorgan , represented West Carmarthens. in Parliament (as a Liberal ), 1889-1910 , and was Recorder of Swansea , 1909-11 . His biography of his father was published in London in 1886 . He was generous to various religious causes , particularly to Union Street Chapel , Carmarthen , his father's church. He d. 17 May 1944 and was buried in the Union Street Chapel cemetery.
