that he gained prominence. He won a
chair

when he was 16 yrs. old, and subsequently
won 22 bardic chairs
. He mastered the
cynganeddion
, but it was in the free metres that he excelled. His collected works were published in
1907
under the title
Llwyn Hudol
. His
pryddest
to ‘
Branwen ferch Llŷr
’ won the
crown
at the
Caernarfon national
eisteddfod
(
1906
); and his poem, ‘
Owain Glyndŵr
’ won the
crown
at
Llangollen
(
1908
). He also won a
chair
at the
American national
eisteddfod
in
1929
. He
adjudicated the competition for the crown
many times at the
national
eisteddfod
.
He m.,
