Born 10 July 1859 at Cefn Capel Cwta, Bethesda, Caernarfonshire, the son of Thomas and Jane Pritchard. A pupil-teacher at the local day school, he also received instruction in organ playing from Dr. Roland Rogers, Bangor. In 1878 he was appointed organist of S. Mark's church, Wrexham. He was a talented piano accompanist and officiated as such in national eisteddfodau held at Liverpool and Wrexham. For six years he conducted the Wrexham choral society which performed several works by the great composers. His part-song, ' Y Gwynt,' was a test piece for male voice choirs at the Bangor national eisteddfod, 1891; solos by him which gained popularity were ' Y Marchog ' and ' Iesu, cyfaill f'enaid cu.' He died 21 August 1890, and was buried at Glanogwen burial ground, Bethesda.
