believed to have been a native of Herefordshire. He was for a time engaged in agricultural pursuits, but he became so charmed with Tenby that he decided to settle there, and became one of the most active and useful members of the local authorities during the space of thirty years. In 1850 he undertook the printing and publishing of Archaeologia Cambrensis at his sole risk, on condition that he received half the annual subscription for each number supplied to the members. The list of subscribing members in that year contained under 130 names. In 1855 the society published on its own account, retaining him as its printer. He, about this time, commenced, as a private speculation, the Cambrian Journal which he published during 1854-64. He was the author of the popular Guide to Tenby and its Neighbourhood, 1852, which passed through several editions; he also issued, anonymously, Tales and Traditions of Tenby, 1858. He died 26 December 1881 in his 65th year.
