He graduated as a disgybl pencerddaidd at the Caerwys eisteddfod of 1568. His patrons included the families of Bodeon, Bodfel, Clenennau, Llwydiarth, Myfyrian, Mysoglen, Penrhyn, Plas Newydd, and Ystumcegid. Love poems and englynion are also among his compositions. There is a collection of his poems in Llanstephan MS 122 (236-92).
