JONES , EVAN ( Ieuan Buallt ; 1850 - 1928 ), farmer, and local antiquary ;

b. at Tyn-y-pant , Llanwrtyd , Brecknock , 6 Feb. 1850 . He devoted his leisure to the study of such antiquities as lay within his reach and to the collection of local lore, including history and tradition, folk-lore, sayings, and proverbs, and was a frequent contributor to Cymru (O.M.E.) — e.g. vols, 65, 66, 67, and 69, Y Geninen , and other periodicals. Part of his collection was bequeathed to the National Library of Wales .
