Nothing is known of his life. Some of his work remains in manuscript, and this includes religious and moral cywyddau and englynion, a cywydd describing a dream the poet had when drunk, a cywydd on the palsy, and a cywydd of praise to Huw Nannau (1580 - 1620, see the article on the family) when the latter became sheriff. In addition to this poetry written in strict metre, one of his poems in free metre is also to be found.
