Henry Bailey
Hughes
joined the
Roman Catholic Church
when he was about sixteen. He studied at the
Dominican College
in
Lisbon
and, after entering the priesthood, travelled as a
missioner
in
Europe

Africa
, and the
United States
. On returning to
Wales
he lived for a time on the
island of S. Tudwal
, off the
Caernarvonshire coast
, and
preached
in
Llŷn
and other places in
Caernarvonshire
. He
wrote Welsh hymns and ballads
. He d.
