Llanbadarn-fawr
, where there was a good choir. He moved with his parents to
Blaen-y-cwm

Capel Dewi

there he was appointed
precentor
at the
Calvinistic Methodist chapel
. He came to
Aberystwyth
to work as a
shoemaker
and there came into contact with a number of good
musicians
who lived in the town. He spent some time at
Tredegar, Mon.
, but returned to
Aberystwyth
. He formed a choir at
Tabernacle chapel
; this choir, by its performances of the ‘
Messiah
,’ ‘
Creation
,’ ‘
The Seasons
,’ and the ‘
Twelfth Mass
,’ did much to raise the standard of music in the town.

EDWARDS

),
bookseller

Great Darkgate Street
, was a prominent
vocalist
; he had spent some time in the

. He was also a zealous
Esperantist
.
