preach

, entered the ministry in

, and ‘travelled’ in
Wales

1816
, when he was transferred to the English work. He became a supernumerary in

He was the first
Welsh missionary
to be stationed in
Manchester
; he was largely instrumental in erecting the first
Welsh Wesleyan Methodist chapel
in
London
; and his letters in
Yr Eurgrawn Wesleyaidd
,

, are valuable sources for the early history of the denomination, for the first
Wesleyan Methodist society
at
Denbigh
met in the house of his father,
